Finally Some New Roisin

Golden Era, the collaboration between David Morales and Roisin Murphy, appeared a few months ago in one of DM’s dj sets. Now, the disco-house heavy song is finally available in tons of remixes.

Maybe that’s my fav remix, cause it is a bit harder.

Don’t suppose you’d ever miss me
‘Cause to you it’s just ancient history
To you it’s just the same old story
Another fairy tale made of faded glory

MiniEgg Mix

I did a MiniEgg Mix for your pre-Hotnuts warm up – doll up party. Happy egg hunting!

New Roisin

Pick That Cherry for ME!

It’s been 4 years since Roisin Murphy released Overpowered. She put out a few songs after the album but keeps us waiting for a full on disco house fest. In an recent interview the singer revealed that she is working on a new record, that is supposedly coming from a “deeper place”.

I just hope she comes out with an album this year. To make the wait a little bit shorter, a limited edition 12″ of Roisin’s collaboration with Toddla T, Cherry Picking, was released last weekend for Record Store Day. I would love to get my mittens on the red vinyl that comes in a mega cherry simulating sleeve. The song is from TT’s new album that is scheduled for August (check this link for the first single, also super cute). Roisin Murphy had first worked with Toddla T for the remix of You Know Me Better.

Hotnuts Get Your Apps Together

Thanks for partying with us at Hotnuts Get Your Apps Together. The Beaver was rammed. The House of Monroe shook the dance floor with every drip and drop. Again, they brought such a powerful performance, the audience was screaming.

Mary Messhausen had a new friend: the Mary O’Nette.
Mysteriously, they wore the same outfit.

Dance floor killer of the night: Crookers feat. Roisin Murphy – Royal T.
I had to play it twice in a row.

Mary and my dress by Mary Messhausen. Of course!

When Mary was pregnant a few months ago, no one, including Mary, heard anything about it again. But then she sneezed and BOOM, there was her drag daughter: Peg.

New Roisin

Last fall, Mama Murphy had performed the song live. Now, listen to the studio version of the new Roisin Murphy single, Momma’s Place (not sure how long the link will last). Update: The final version of the song is now posted on her facebook page.

The piano house track, including 4 remixes, will be released January 18 through AWAL. It also sounds like there is a sample of an 80’s synthpop track in there…

And one more. Roisin is going to be featured on a Crookers single, Royal T. The track was part of her Viktor & Rolf soundtrack. The song is getting a remix treatment by one of my favourites, Riva Starr, who also did the amazingly cut-up remix of Love Long Distance by The Gossip. Listen to a 30 sec preview of Royal T (Riva Starr Remix). (via)

Eat Me, Eat Me, Stuff Your Face.

You can stream Roisin Murphy’s new pumping single, Orally Fixated on her facebook or myspace page.

Eat Me. Eat Me. Eat Me.

My friends at omgblog report that this is one of three new singles to come out over the next months through online distributor AWAL. Orally Fixated will soon be available from The Guardian for free for a limited time. Can’t wait for remixes.

Roisin for Viktor & Rolf

Earlier today in Paris. Roisin Murphy performed new songs, “Hold Up Your Hands/Royalty” and “Demon Lover”, during the Viktor & Rolf fashion show for spring 2010 (via).
Watch the runway and a few pictures below.

Yes, that is Roisin to the right in the giant pink tutu, which is hiding her pregnancy.

Not sure what is more stunning the new music or the new fashion?! Love, love, love the giant dresses with cut out holes & shapes.

WELCOME BACK!

Two More for Fall

Roisin Murphy premiered new songs in London last weekend. Her pregnancy seems to have popped out “Momma’s Place”. She sounds amazing, singing live over the pumping beats. The synths in the background sound like a sample, no?

The first single to Roisin’s planned new album is supposed to be “Demon Lover”. During an interview with BBC6 early this year she described it as a “big funky house track”. Not sure when the album drops, as she was also talking about releasing it in bundles, maybe as EPs? So, let’s hope we’re getting some new stuff soon.

KC for GQ

The Kid Cudi album, Man On The Moon: The End Of Day, has leaked and of course it is great. Beats be good and his sometimes sleepy voice puts me into some kind of romantic(?) mood. He be cute.

Roisin & Yoko for H&M DAA

After their collaboration in 2008, H&M and Designers Against Aids are doing it again. The list of involved designers & musicians is long. I’m most excited to see Roisin Murphy’s and Yoko Ono’s creations. Pictures should hit the interwebs soon as the T-Shirts will be in the shops later this month.

Update: In shops May 28, all pictures here (Roisin on page 1, Yoko on 4)

CC

I’m a litte bit late with this, but jut now I saw the pictures below at El Fashionista. In case you were wondering what Roisin Murphy wore during her latest tour and the concert that was streaming on her website, two of the best outfits are by Cristophe Coppens.
CC was trained as a theater director and actor. Started his own fashion line in the 90ties, made hats for Yohji Yamamoto and Guy Laroche and became the milliner of the Belgian royal family.

And now, I also want to carry a deer on my back.
Such an amazing look.
