The Skin I Live In

Pedro Almodovar’s new movie The Skin I Live In will have it’s premiere in Cannes next week. The film’s poster could also be an ad for Bodyworlds. This better be a good sign. Apparently the movie is based on Thierry Jonquet’s novel “Mygale”, this revenge tale tells the story of a plastic surgeon on the hunt for the men who raped his daughter. It’s also the first time in 21 years that Antonio Banderas is going to be featured in an Almodovar film.

In this still from the movie actress Elena Anaya looks like she’s wearing a Margiela bodysuit.
I mean I have not seen one from La Maison MM like this, but couldn’t it be?

Cesta in Broken Embraces

In this still from the trailer of Broken Embraces, the latest Almodovar movie, we can not see Penelope Cruz. We can not see Lluís Homar. They are humping underneath the sheets. But in the blurry background, we can see one of my favourite table lamps.

The lamp is called Cesta and was designed in 1964 by Miguel Milá.
The lantern style lamp consists of a cherry wood structure and an opal ball diffuser. I guess it can help to transform any modern space into a Japanese palace of the Edo period. Or a set from an Almodovar movie.

Kategorie: Ich will. Me want.

Cesta Lamps. WANT ONE. OR TWO.

Broken Embraces Teaser Trailer

Below are the first 30 seconds of the new Pedro Alomodovar movie, Los Abrazos Rotos (Broken Embraces). The film was shot in Madrid and Lanzarote last year, featuring Penelope Cruz and Rossy de Palma (yay!).
Premieres are scheduled for Spain in March, Germany in August, North America in November. Hopefully, we’ll get it a bit earlier in Toronto with the TIFF in September.
