That Chick supposedly is the tentative title of Mariah’s new album, scheduled for April. The title brings the great line from It’s Like That to my mind: “Them chickens is ash and I’m lotion”. Give me the first single, already. Can’t wait.
Update: MTV UK report:
“One track titled ”O.O.C” summed up the night and the return of Mariah – once the albums out it’s gonna be ”Out Of Control!”
Basically, I have to go to sleep for two months. Everything I want is available in spring, mostly February only:
Lovers and Haters is a Spike Lee short. Or better, three vignettes shot for Mariah’s The Adventures of Mimi tour. The clips are featured on the soon to be released Mimi tour Dvd.
While I’m waiting for her new album to drop, Mariah is just chillin’ on her couch.

It’s a big day in perfume commercials. First we have the ad for M by Mariah.
“The commercial (…) features Mariah in a private sunset paradise & promises to deliver all the warmth, sensuality and glamour that Mariah and her fragrance, exude.”
Second, here is the David Lynch directed Gucci by Gucci clip:
Earlier:
Got My M
M by Mariah
Overly excited, I entered the department store. I must have looked kind of lost as I hastily walked around the perfume counters. One sales lady noticed my despair. She asked me: “Can I help you with something?”
I had not completed my question when I saw the M by Mariah flacon in her hand but I continued anyway: “Yes, I’m looking for Mariah’s fragrance.”
The woman, well in her 60s replied laughingly: “I am Mariah. Don’t I look like her? (Short break) Well, maybe 40 years from now.” Absolutely, I said.
She directed me to the Mariah counter, “Is it for a young lady, my dear?”
“That would be me, I am right here.”
As you may remember, M has top notes of marshmallow and sea breeze accord, a heart of Living Tahitian Tiare and gardenia and a drydown of sheer amber, patchouli and Moroccan incense.
It’s such a lovely scent. I’m on cloud marshmallow.
Crybaby is a Mariah treat from 2000 that I listened to on my way to the countryside today. I remembered the video and had to watch it the minute I came back to my place.
Taken from the double A sided single with Can’t Take That Away (Mariah’s Theme), Crybaby is not exactly one of her high charting hits. It’s got a classic video nonetheless and is a fan favourite.
The video is mostly a 1 to 1 (ist nicht vorbei) visualization of the lyrics and has a couple of Mariah diva moments.
“So it’s 5 am
And I still can’t sleep”
“Took some medicine
But it’s not working”
“Late at night like a little child
Wandering ’round alone
In my new friend’s home
On my tippy toes”
“Sipping Bailey’s Cream
By the stereo
Trying to find relief
On the radio”
It gets really dramatic after this point: There is lots of spillage and broken glass. Oreo’s are cracking on the floor, nail polish is dripping. Absolutely Crybaby. Watch it now.

Mariah sang a couple of songs at One Mighty Party, the first gay and lesbian festivities at EuroDisney. As you might know, I am not a big fan of candids, but this one is good. For various reasons. One being the butterflies on her Mercedes.
