Angel Memoirs

Mariah Memoirs

Last night was my second Mariah concert ever. It was better than the first one almost 4 years ago. That probably also had to do with the fact that we were sitting even closer to the stage. From 8th row in 2006 to 1st row in 2010. I guess the next time, I will be on her lap.

Right at the beginning, MC mentioned that she hat a little cold, but that wouldn’t stop her. During the whole show she was very funny and really seemed to enjoy herself and the audience. My favourite songs this time: My All, We Belong Together and Always Be My Baby. Classic. I’m still all smiles and can’t really believe it. MIMI!!!!!!!!!!

100%, a new song that just got released on iTunes US and Canada yesterday, was performed in Toronto for the first time. The tune was written for the Precious soundtrack and it now seems like it is going to appear on Mariah’s remix / duets album “Angels Advocate” that is going to be released on March 30. The performance of 100% was filmed for the possible inclusion in the music video. I can’t wait to see it.

Here is a clip of 100% with lots of talky talky by Mariah. She had to get re-wired or something. The song starts about 2 minutes in.

The pictures from the video shoot to the next Mariah single “Up Out My Face” look very promising. I mean, Mimi and featured rapper Nikki Minaj as dolls, what more can you ask for? Do I have to mention that it is one of my favourite songs of the album?

The song is going to be a single from the Memoirs remix album, which is dropping on February 23.

February is going to be a crazy Mariah month. She is going to perform in Toronto on Feb 9 as part of the Angels Advocate Tour. And Mary Messhausen and myself have front row tickets. I guess I will need to wear diapers, cause I will surely wet myself with some butterfly juice nectar.

Tiff Is Almost Hurrr

The Toronto International Film Festival (Tiff) is fast approaching. From September 10 to 19 this city is going movie & celebrity crazy.

A Serious Man

By Coen Brothers
Saturday September 12 09:00PM VISA SCREENING ROOM (ELGIN)
Monday September 14 09:00AM SCOTIABANK THEATRE 1

Seems like the new Coen Brothers movie has the world premiere at Tiff. Although it will have its official release at the beginning of October, I love to see blockbusters at the festival. The directors are in attendance and that usually guarantees a fun Q&A session.

Broken Embraces

By Pedro Almodóvar
Thursday September 10 09:30PM VISA SCREENING ROOM (ELGIN)
Saturday September 12 09:30AM SCOTIABANK THEATRE 3

Already yesterdays news in old Europe, I guess this is the North American premiere. Almodóvar is not on the list of people to attend the festival, but Penelope Cruz is. So, I can’t wait to see the movie and hopefully a Q&A with Penelope. I’ve avoided to read anything about Broken Embraces, but here are a couple of pictures from Ms. Cruz screen tests.

Precious

By Lee Daniels
Sunday September 13 09:30PM ROY THOMSON HALL
Monday September 14 12:30PM WINTER GARDEN THEATRE

Shockingly, this drama is the highlight of the festival for me. You know I prefer the light fare, but what can I do when Mariah always chooses to star as a supporting actress (here: social worker) in the serious films? And Mimi is going to be in town for the screening!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh, I wish Mariah would appear in a comedy alongside Seth Rogen, maybe something like “The eternally 12 year old Butterfly”. That would be fun, no?

Wish me luck in getting tickets. It would be so great if they would sell some through Mariah’s fan club, Honey B. Fly. Of course, I’m a memberess…

p.s. which Mariah outfit from Precious do you like best?
I think I’m going for the first one.

First Outfit: Mariah

Second Outfit: Mariah

Third Outfit: Mariah

Trash Humpers

By Harmony Korine
Saturday September 12 09:45PM SCOTIABANK THEATRE 2
Monday September 14 11:45AM SCOTIABANK THEATRE 1
Friday September 18 10:00PM JACKMAN HALL – AGO

Although the title could suggest some serious fun, Korine’s new movie seems to be darkly serious. I wasn’t really impressed with “Mister Lonely” and all its impersonators, so maybe this one is going back to his rougher days.

And More…

There are two Werner Herzog films: Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done and the new Claire Denis film, White Material (But I’m not supposed to write about that one. I’m not even supposed to write that I’m not supposed to write about it.).

Mariah is Truly O.O.C.

Mariah is currently in New York at the Plaza Hotel shooting a video with director Brett Ratner for her new single, Obsessed. Today, she leaked a photo of the star of the video on MariahCarey.com.

Mariah in drag

This is the most hysterical drag number I have seen in a very long time. Mariah is out of control. I didn’t think any kind of drag could freak me out. But this does. Love her so much and can’t wait for the video to drop.

The picture above is from Rap-Up, they have more. Check them out.

Thanks Alex.
