Received a pink laser cut silk scarf made out of circles from the Margiela spring/summer collection 2003 in the mail today. New with tags. Stunning.

English lesson of the day:
The ‘pen’ in ‘penalised’ can be pronounced like the ‘pen’ in ‘penis’.
Can you use it in a sentence, please?
You will be penalised.

If you are in Canada, CTV is now streaming a couple of TV shows for free, like Lost, Desperate Housewives, Degrassi, etc. No Gossip Girl, though.

Hotnuts²

Last night was basically the official album release party for Mariah’s E=MC². Gartina took the stage and performed Fantasy and Make it Happen in a strobe light thunderstorm. Watch the Make It Happen climax. She was flawless as always. Jeremy was playing some hot dancehall. Mary’s hour glass figure transfixed the boys. My dress from the Mary Messhausen Mussy collection.

By the end of the night I was Mariah crazy and I screamed. “I’m going to play all 18 number one hits.” And that set the dancefloor on fire.

Thank you all for making Hotnuts happen.

Cannes 61

Charlie Kaufman is also in the running with his directorial debut Synecdoche, New York – which sees Philip Seymour Hoffman attempting to build a life-size model of the Big Apple.

Kung Fu Panda, an animated comedy from Dreamworks with a voice cast boasting Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu and Dustin Hoffman, will also premiere on Cannes’ famous Croisette. (source)

For all those who aren’t AP English professors, a “synecdoche,” other than a clever play on Schenectady, where some of the film takes place, is a figure of speech in which a part is used to describe the whole or the whole is used to describe a part (think “threads” for clothes, or “the law” for a police officer). It’s representative shorthand. (source)

I’m a little bit excited about the Charlie Kaufman movie mainly because I liked his screenplay for Human Nature, directed by Michel Gondry. Watch the trailer below.

My Favourite Sandals

Want it Need it

A couple of years ago, I saw these Martin Margiela sandals at a shop in Cologne, but they were not available in my size. Now, I found them online, again, not my size. And I’m not that crazy (yet), that I’d buy them 3 or 4 sizes too small.

The black leather tabi sandals are to be worn with clear tape wrapped repeatedly around the sole and foot. By using different colored and patterned tape everytime I’d wear them, I’d have a new shoe in seconds.

The closest thing (and still a far stretch) that I found in my size are the sandals below. I might have to get them. Just to get piece of mind. For one week.

Want it? Need it?
