Sometimes, we have to go way back here at produzentin.com.
I’m thinking Friedrich von Schiller weeks. (Google him, he’s ancient & German)
Let’s start with one of my favourite quotes:
“Die Limonade ist matt, wie deine Seele.”
(Kabale und Liebe)
“The lemonade is weak, like your soul.”
(Intrigue and Love)
‘Weak’ seems to be the official translation for ‘matt’ in this case. But I’d rather use ‘flat’. A more casual translation would probably be:
“The pop is dull, just like your soul.”
Although dull is not the right word, but it sounds so good.
What do you think? Are you down with Schiller?
Ah. I love that. Kann mich gar nicht an die Zeile erinnern. Mönsch. “The pop is dull, like your soul”… herrlich!
und dann ist die limo auch noch vergiftet. sehr böse.
