I just bought my mom Babs’ latest live album for her birthday. I was so gay when I was 10 years old, I used to steal her Barbra Streisand showtunes album so I could memorize the words to “Luck Be A Lady.” When I was 12, I the lyrics to knew “Papa Can You Hear me?”, including the intro in which she explains how Yentl was “thrown off a wagon in the dark of night” and then lit a candle to speak to her father. SO fucking gay.
