Michael Krebber – Ausserirdische Zwitterwesen – Alien Hybrid Creatures
Ausserirdische Zwitterwesen / Alien Hybrid Creatures was published in July 2005. In spring 2004 Michael Krebber asked me if I wanted to work with him on this project. He wanted to publish a book on the occasion of his lecture Puberty in Painting.
Of course, I quickly shouted: YES!
Then came the crisis. What to do? What to do? I needed a very special cover idea for the book. For inspiration, I went to the Frankfurt Zoo. After spending hours and hours at the Exotarium without taking a picture of a spawning sea anemone, I finally gave Michael Höpfel a call. He created the 3d cover image.
Everything fell into place when I remembered the phrase “Ausserirdische Zwitterwesen” (Alien Hybrid Creatures), which I caught on TV several years ago. Following the first sketch of the sequence of the covers, pictures and photographs shown in the book, Michael and I arranged the final order.
